Alienware AW3423DWF support page only comes with a Windows executable for updating the monitor firmware. It does not seem to work with Wine currently, but it can be run using a Windows 10 VM inside VirtualBox.

Edit (2022-11-06): I found out after writing this that there is a built in life filter, but that's no fun.

I've been sitting on the idea of using ffmpeg filters for game of life for a couple years now. Today I was bored enough to give it a go.

redshift -O [VALUE] has been an eye-saver for me on Ubuntu 20.04. Unfortunately it no longer works on a fresh Ubuntu 22.04 install.
